tICO tico plans cosmos revival

Richard Nkosi

Newly signed Jomo Cosmos striker Tico Tico Bucuane is expected to play a pivotal role in helping Ezenkosi return to the elite league - starting with Sunday's match against Winners Park at Vaal Tech Stadium.

The National First Division inland stream match will kick-off at 3:30pm.

"I'm glad to be back at Jomo Cosmos," said Bucuane.

"This team introduced me to South African football and my aim will be to help them return to where they belong - the Absa Premiership."

The Mozambican made his debut last week when Cosmos beat Black Leopards 2-1.

Cosmos are top of the log with 26 points from 15 games and Badumedi are third with 24 points from the same number of games.

Both teams are left with six games to round off the season.

"We are expecting a tough game against Winners Park, but we are ready for anything. We have a decent squad that is ready to compete well," said Bucuane.

He has rejoined Ezenkosi from Maritzburg United where he failed to make the impact expected of him.

Winners Park will be looking to continue with their winning ways under new mentor, Innocent "Ayobayo" Mayoyo, who steered them to their first win in the new year last week when they beat Dynamos 1-0.
