KwaZulu-Natal police have asked for the assistance of the public in their search for the province's "most wanted fraudster".
Police spokesman Joey Jeevan said police wanted to know the whereabouts of Sthembiso Msomi, 37, wanted in connection with several counts of fraud.
Msomi escaped in December last year while being transported to Pietermaritzburg prison. He was due to stand trial on 83 charges of fraud - amounting to R20 million - and was facing six counts relating to the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
"He is Zulu-speaking, of slender build and had a short goatee beard. He is usually well-dressed," Jeevan said.
