Please use your editorial influence to communicate our pleas regarding Zimbabwe to the South African government and Southern African Development Community.
We ask them to please detain Robert Mugabe and Morgan Tsvangirai indefinitely in South Africa until Zimbabwe's problems are solved.
That would save lives faster than any other solution. Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures.
The idea of a UN caretaker government is what Zimbabwe needs urgently. I have spent 32 years running from Mugabe, starting when I was seven. I ran away from Mugabe's guerillas in the 1970s. In their fight against the white regime, Mugabe's guerillas killed more black people than whites.
Mugabe's current system of land seizures has empoverished more black farmworkers than white farmers.
Tsvangirai is also culpable of increasing our people's misery. Knowing very well that the white world has no sympathy for black peasants, Tsvangirai asked the hostile white world to impose sanctions on Zimbabwe. I want to go back to a normal country run by a normal non-criminal president.
