Former Mamelodi Sundowns marketing and communications director Alex Shakoane has "lost respect" for the club's owner, Patrice Motsepe, for breaching an agreement in a court settlement.

This after a report in a weekend paper in which Motsepe allegedly revealed the contents of the labour court settlement by announcing the amount that Shakoane was to receive as final settlement.

According to the newspaper, Shakoane would only receive a year's salary equal to R480000 and not the initial amount of R3million that was reported in the media.

Shakoane stressed how he had served Sundowns with "respect, dignity and dedication . I read with shock media reports by Patrice Motsepe today.

"I am disappointed and have lost respect for Motsepe. I have always regarded him as a man of integrity.," said Shakoane.

Shakoane said he personally dropped the court case against Sundowns "because of my love for the club and not because I was begging to have my job back as claimed in the media. It was Motsepe who lied to the nation that he gave me R3million."

Shakoane told Sowetan that he was planning to go back to operating his own business. The court settlement was, according to him, reached on Friday in the Johannesburg CCMA.
