The case against a security guard and a SAA cabin crew member arrested for alleged drug smuggling was postponed to January 30 for a formal bail application in the Kempton Park regional court on Friday.

Pulane Hlahane and Mmatshuma Matlhaga were not asked to plead. The pair's arrest follows the seizure of three bags containing 50kg of dagga and 4kg of cocaine worth R2,1million at Heathrow airport, London, last Tuesday.

Hlahane is said to have confessed to being part of a drug trafficking syndicate. She allegedly implicated Matlhaga as her partner in crime.
