The church should not only be a place for spiritual fulfilment, but it shoud also be where the needy can receive financial help.

This was the message when the eThekwini Community Church hosted a party for last years' matric pupils over the weekend.

Pastor Sakhile Langa said they were celebrating their efforts in raising funds for the needy pupils.

Langa said this year they managed to secure 40 bursaries from one of the local tertiary institutions and this was made possible by the determination of their social relief desk.

He said they would be visiting the tertiary institutions, where needy students are enrolled, to check on their academic progress.
