Platinum Stars have reportedly parted ways with club PRO Putco Mafani.

Sources close to the team said Mafani, who was engaged as a consultant with the North West -based club in 2007, is said to have been relieved of his duties a couple of weeks ago by the new management.

It is said that club owners Royal Bafokeng Holdings, who acquired 100% ownership of the club late last year, felt Mafani had failed to deliver - an allegation refuted by Mafani.

He also denied he' d been fired.

"I am talking with the club about my future. I am therefore not in a position to either confirm or deny what you are asking. The discussions are at a sensitive stage," said Mafani.

But club chairman George Khunou appeared to confirm that the two parties' relationship had soured.

"We have a new CEO, Ian Riddick, and he must find people who can drive the club's vision as he sees fit," he said.

Interestingly, Thierry Mulonzo, who is also said to be on his way out, denied he had been fired.
