Dipuo Mathibe was truly respected by people in Mohlakeng, Randfontein.

She succumbed to her ailment, which had plagued her for some time, on January 16.

A staunch member of St Paul's Church, Mathibe was one of the most gifted singers in the church and often led the choir with her velvety voice.

She attended Mohlakeng Higher Primary and Phahama High School, then went to work at Randwes Sanatorium.

Mathibe worked at Randwes for 11 years before taking up a post at Millsite Psychiatric Hospital.

She was later retrenched and moved to Tzaneen in Limpopo and worked at Shiluvana Hospital for four years.

Mathibe then started training as a sangoma but ill-health put paid to her calling.

She will be remembered for her unconditional love for everybody. She was a humorous and kind woman and her family and friends will miss her dearly.

Mathibe will be buried at Mohlakeng Cemetery tomorrow after a service at her home in Legodi Street from 7am.
