Juicy encounter between Ajax-Birds

Ajax Cape Town will refuse to be lulled into a false sense of security by their first-round 4-2 win over Moroka Swallows when they meet again tomorrow at Athlone Stadium at 8.15pm.

The Urban Warriors need nothing less than a win from this encounter for various reasons.

They want to soothe their wounds after they were defeated 2-0 in their last match by an unlikely source - Maritzburg United.

A win will also shoot them to the summit of the log after SuperSport United usurped the top spot with a 3-1 win at Maritzburg United in midweek.

But Ajax's preparations were somewhat disrupted by the disappearance of want-away midfielder Mkhanyiseli Siwahla who went AWOL for a week.

Ajax confirmed that Siwahla pleaded guilty to misconduct and was fined an undisclosed amount of money.

Siwahla has been placed on the transfer list at his request.

Swallows dropped two valuable points when they drew 1-1 against Bay United on Sunday.

Sandile Ndlovu, who scored in that encounter, will once again carry the hopes of The Birds in Cape Town.

Lefa Tsutsulupa should battle well with in-form Sameehg Doutie for midfied supremacy while Mabhuti Khenyeza, who scored one of the four goals against Swallows in the first round, will look to add to his tally for the season.
