Benin midfielder Jonas Oketola has been banned from playing football in South Africa for two years after being found guilty of a doping violation.
Morio Sanyane, spokesman for the South African Football Association, said on Monday a disciplinary committee last week issued a guilty verdict against the Nigerian-born player.
Oketola, who plays for Ansa Premiership club Thanda Royal Zulu, tested positive for drugs in November.
He is regarded as a key member of the Benin national team, which has advanced to the final round of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations. - Sapa-AP
