SA democracy threatened

It is no longer a secret that our democracy is under threat. Our country under the ANC is at a crossroad.

It is no longer a secret that our democracy is under threat. Our country under the ANC is at a crossroad.

Last year we witnessed the disbanding of the Scorpions. We have also heard our judges called counter-revolutionary. This week, after the supreme court of appeal ruling on the Jacob Zuma and the NPA case, we heard calls from the ANC's parliamentary wing to review the NPA Act.

The question we need to ask is, why every time a court rules against Zuma do we hear these kinds of noises. The ANC itself championed the drafting of the laws that it now calls counter-revolutionary. All this war talk has the potential to set us back as a society. And it is all being done for one person, Zuma.

Given the current state of affairs, I agree that there is a personality cult developing around Zuma. I don't understand people who are prepared to sacrifice our democracy for one individual.

Dictators all over the world did not develop overnight. They were in the main produced by people close to them who continued to say that their masters were under threat or continued preaching conspiracy where none existed. We need to be very afraid of this tendency that threatens to destroy us.
