Boxing SA, promoter Koko Godlo, trainer Manny Fernandez and Mzukisi Mgidi's manager Elliot Mjele have shown a great deal of insensitivity towards the family of Ludumo Galada, who died in a recent car crash, as well as the entire boxing fraternity.

Boxing SA has left everyone stunned by sanctioning a South African welterweight title fight between holder Kaizer Mabuza and Mgidi, which will take place next Friday at Mdantsane's Orient Theatre.

This fight, which was sanctioned in less than 10 days, replaces the WBF featherweight title fight between former champ Galada and Takalani Ndlovu.

Galada died in a car accident on Sunday morning.

Expectations were that this tournament, which was to be presented by promoter Godlo, would be called off.

Loyiso Mtya, who heads the sanctioning committee, said yesterday: "Mabuza and Mgidi will not fight for Galada's title. Koko spoke to Galada's management and his family, who said life must go on for other people."
