Police have confirmed that they have charged a Congress of the People organiser on the West Rand for allegedly pointing a gun at and intimidating Peter Thekiso, a member of the party's youth wing.

Ally Mosina is said to have threatened Thekiso with a gun during an altercation at the party's offices in Randfontein.

Yesterday Mosina denied the charges. Mosina said that Thekiso had made up the allegations. He claimed that Thekiso was upset because he had discovered that he had submitted a false CV to secure an overseas study trip.

Thekiso was not available for comment.

Cope spokesman Onkgopotse Tabane said the party was not aware of the charges against Mosina.
