It will be an all-South African affair when local match officials handle the CAF Super Cup final in Cairo, Egypt, on February 6.

The match features African Champions League winners Al Ahly from Egypt against CAF Confederation Cup champs CF Sfaxien of Tunisia.

It will be handled by the highly respected Daniel Bennett, who will be assisted by Toko Molefe and Enoch Radebe. Yugesh Anjith, another South African, will be the fourth official.

Bennettt is regarded as a cool customer with nerves of steel who is capable of handling any fixture .

The quartet's appointment has reconfirmed CAF's confidence in local match officials, and this was welcomed by Kirsten Nematandani, Safa national referees' committee chairman.

"We are happy and encouraged by the achievements of our match officials, and we don't have any doubt in our mind that their successes will go a long way to inspiring other local referees," Nematandani told Sowetan yesterday.

"Their continued appointment at continental events shows that there is something good that we are doing as Safa in terms of uplifting the standard of refereeing in the country.

"I strongly believe that they will continue to hoist the country's flag high."

Bennett begins what should be a hectic year with an assignment at the African Youth Championship in Rwanda from January 18 to February 1.
