Departed hero, World Boxing Foundation featherweight champion Ludumo "Pretty Boy" Galada will be buried on Saturday after a service at NU KwaBhengu Church in Mdantsane.

A memorial service for the fighter, who died on Sunday morning in a car accident, will also be held at the same venue tomorrow.

This former Olympian was to defend against Takalani "The Panther" Ndlovu at the Orient Theatre next Friday.

Their fight, a second defence for the champion who was still celebrating a second-round stoppage win over Pedro Navarrete last November, would have been presented by promoter Koko Godlo.

Galada turned professional in 2005 after representing South Africa at the Athens Olympics.

Galada defended three times, making himself eligible for the WBF vacant belt that he won in a first round stoppage of David Kiilu.

Galada was deputy chairman of the National Boxers Association with 13 of his wins coming via the short route.
