Residents of KwaMashu, north of Durban, came out in full force to give support to three grieving families who lost children during the recent storms.

Nkululeko "Freedom" Mbuyisa, 16, Mzovukile "Sadum" Mtungwa, 15, and Nhlakanipho Zwane, 13, died when the vehicle they were travelling in washed away a week ago.

The young boys were pupils at Zef Dlomo, Ikusasalentsha and Tholamandla Primary schools in this township.

The funeral service was held in a giant white marquee erected at the K-Section sports grounds in KwaMashu.

The three boys were later laid to rest at the Phoenix cemetery nearby.
