The Premier Soccer League has prioritised the recruitment of a chief executive officer as its main goal for 2009.
PSL chairman Irvin Khoza said that person will take over from Swede Kjetil Siem, whose contract ends next year.
Khoza was quick to point out that the successful candidate for the job must have a solid background in broadcasting and new media (digital communications).
"We are going to head-hunt that person. There are no names at this stage but he or she must be able to take the PSL to greater heights," Khoza said.
"Mr Siem is well into the second year of his three-year contract and he made it clear when we employed him that we needed an African as a replacement in 2010.
"We also have to increase the [PSL's] market share. There is this 2010 wave, we have to start planning post 2010 to sustain the momentum.
"As the PSL we are not running the 2010 World Cup but will offer a helping hand to the organising committee where possible - we service the local soccer market."
Khoza also announced that the PSL was finalising a content management system as part of their broadcasting deal.
"We will divert feed from the televised game, use it on the SMS [simple text message], MMS [multimedia service] or communication forums.
"The plan is to implement interaction between the fans of respective clubs where a coach can provide a last-minute message before a game.
"We are also working on video conferencing for the clubs, there will be no need for their representatives to assemble at a single place to plan for a game.
"There is also a need to implement the CRM [customer relations management] to be closer to the fans, that will also enable us to communicate regularly with them."
Khoza added that the PSL was also finalising the Mobisite that will enable football followers to get in-depth news from the PSL on their phones.
