Police in Mpumalanga have posted a R5000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the mastermind of a gang who deactivates alarms during burglaries at homes and businesses.
Jeffrey Kota Kau, who is in his mid-40s, is wanted in connection with a string of burglaries in the Witbank area.
Captain Leonard Hlathi of the Mpumalanga organised crime unit said Kau, who goes by the nickname Tollie, is from the Sekhukhune area in Limpopo.
He is active around Springs in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, and Jane Furse and Ga-Masemola in Limpopo.
Kau allegedly specialises in deactivating alarms during burglaries in Witbank and the neighbouring mines.
