The ANC government has ignored the plight of poor communities in the rural areas and informal settlements since 1994.
As a resident of a rural area, survival is a daily struggle. I and many others in the neglected parts of our country still have to walk kilometres to get to the nearest tap for drinking water.
Our children still learn under trees despite endless promises to build classrooms for all. Yet every five years the ANC boasts about how it has improved the lives of ordinary South Africans.
The ANC will make many promises in its manifesto this weekend but will deliver far less.
