Cricket South Africa CEO Gerald Majola has expressed the association's gratitude to the Proteas coach Mickey Arthur for the team's heroic performances and historic test win against bitter rivals Australia.
This after the Proteas made the country proud following their unassailable 2-0 lead over the Australians in the three-match test series currently underway Down Under.
This was South Africa's first win against the Aussies in over 98 years.
It was also a fitting late Christmas present to South African supporters who have been glued to the their television sets in the early hours of the morning to cheer their idols on.
Said an excited Majola yesterday: "On behalf of CSA, I would like to congratulate the Proteas on their record-breaking Test series win over world champions in Australia.
"We have seen a united effort by all - players, coaches and administrators - to strive to achieve CSA's vision of making cricket a truly national sport of winners."
Players such as captain Graeme Smith, Dale Steyn, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy and Paul Harris have been outstanding in their catching and ground fielding.
