Constable Mabel Sibanda said the man and two others allegedly robbed the store on Monday afternoon but returned about four hours later to ask the store owner if he had laid charges against them.
"Unbeknown to them an employee who saw them during the robbery earlier was watching them on closed circuit TV.
"He called the police to the store," Sibanda said.
When police arrived a shootout ensued.
"Two of them fled the scene and drove towards Equestria. while the third was arrested."
Police later found the get-away car and a gun used in the shootout at a house in Equestria.
The two men were still at large yesterday. - Sapa
