First of all, let me salute you for your courage in reporting these atrocities against blacks.
The story, "Attacked for being at a white place at the wrong time" (December 22), deeply touched my heart.
There is no self-respecting black person who can pretend that, after reading that story, we are living in a normal society.
Enough is enough, we cannot live like hunted animals in the land of our ancestors.
This talk of reconciliation and a rainbow nation is meaningless to those black people who continue to feel the brunt of raw white power.
I don't know why it's difficult for this government to declare racism a capital crime.
To support my argument, Arjan El Fassed, in an article headed "Israel's apartheid: a crime against humanity", has this to say about apartheid/ racism: "Apartheid is a system of institutionalised racial segregation and discrimination for the purpose of establishing and maintaining domination by one racial group of persons over another racial group and systematically oppressing them, such as that pursued by South Africa before the end of apartheid.
"Customary international law clearly recognises the illegitimacy of apartheid. The crime of apartheid is closely associated with the crime of genocide, and its authors and perpetrators will undoubtedly one day be called upon to account for their actions, and held liable to compensate their victims."
