The body of one of the occupants of a fishing boat that capsized and sunk off Oyster Bay in the Eastern Cape was found drifting in the surf yesterday morning.
Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre spokesman Sarene Kloren said the body was airlifted from the rocky beach by helicopter.
The first body was spotted by locals on Monday night after it washed up on the beach.
Five other occupants of the boat survived the incident on Monday evening despite heavy seas and gale force winds.
"Of the 19 crew members aboard the Kingfisher vessel, five have been recovered - one washed ashore in a life raft, one swam ashore and three were rescued by helicopter." - Sapa
