The ambitious Ajax Cape Town coach, Craig Roslee, will not take the Christmas break but will be planning for their next league fixtures in the new year.
And he is optimistic that his team will not disappoint their followers in their quest to annex the Absa Premiership trophy.
An upbeat Roslee spoke to Sowetan after his side beat Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 in a thrilling league encounter that took place at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday evening.
More than 8 000 soccer fanatics, mainly Ajax followers, enjoyed the game from the onset until the final whistle.
They were also delighted when the Telkom Knockout trophy that was won by Ajax in Durban two weeks ago, was displayed at the stadium during the break and were entertained by music and traditional dancers.
"I am glad we collected the maximum points by beating Sundowns and I also want to thank our loyal fans who never gave up on us. I promised them that we will bring the Telkom Cup trophy here in Cape Town and we did not let them down," said a jubilant Roslee.
He added: "We are not finished yet, we will continue in the new year were we left off before the Christmas break, but I must admit it is going to to be tough as all the teams are after our blood. We will be ready. As for my guys, I told them to rest and forget about soccer and leave the rest with me."
Sundowns' behaviour was unprofessional - they did not turn up at the press conference after the game. The media was told to wait for Sundowns mentor Henri Michel but the visiting side left, hence our efforts to talk with Michel failed.
The game started with the home side attacking from all angles in search of an early lead and they forced the Brazilians to defend in numbers.
The visitors' defence was leaking and exposed but Ajax failed to finish them off as Sundowns keeper Calvin Marlin parried a thunderous shot from Franklin Cale, which fell to the unmarked Sameehg Doutie who gave Marlin a chance to position himself and blocked his shot for a corner in the 11th minute.
In the 16th minute and 42nd minutes, Marlin made two saves denying the Urban Warriors' striker, Joseph Masel.
But in the 21st minute, Marlin could not stop Ajax defender Eduardo Ferreira, who scored with his thigh from a free kick taken taken by Brett Evans.
