Non-stop action for soccer lovers

Soccer lovers can still get their fix this weekend despite the short Premier Soccer League break.

Several tournaments have been lined up in various parts of the country to keep the community's interest in the beautiful game going during the festive holidays.

Some of the professional and development coaches, as well as talent scouts will be keeping an eye on up-and-coming youngsters for their respective clubs.

The games have already started and the finals will be held between December 30 and 31.

In Vosloorus, the Diski Nine Nine tournament enters its second day at the local Ground D at Dindela and four games will be played today.

Rockville United face Newcastle FC (10.30am), Meyerton Blazers meet BOP FC (noon), Paps challenge Ama-Ten-Ten (1.30am) and Amavenjula come up against Arsenal (3.30pm).

Some of the products of this tournament include the Vosloorus-based players who are doing duty for PSL clubs. They are Lamontville Golden Arrows duo of striker Kagiso Senamela and Musa Bilinkulu, and Orlando Pirates sensation Reason Chiloane.

Meanwhile, the Kathorus Festive Soccer tournament gets under way today at Botsotso Ground, Mopeli Section in Katlehong.

Other weekend games will be continuing at the following venues:

l Lucas "Masterpieces" Moripe Games at Super Stadium and Mbolekwa grounds, Atteridgeville;

l Pollen Festive Games at St Saints Ground, Daveyton;

l Cell C at KwaThema Sports Complex, Springs;

l Tuka Diski Games at Sinaba stadium, Daveyton and Etwatwa grounds;

l KwaMahlobo Games at Meadowlands Zone 10 ground;

l Godfrey Moloi Goodwill Games at Mapetla ground; and

l Discovery Walter Sisulu Challenge at Hyundai Park, Klipspruit in Soweto.
