A titanic battle is expected when the Titans and the Diamond Eagles meet in an MTN Domestic Championships game at SuperSport Park, Centurion, today at 4.15pm.

Usually, there is never a dull moment when these local cricket giants cross swords, and today's encounter is expected to be no exception.

The Eagles, from Bloemfontein, will be out to preserve their log leadat the expense of the defending champions, even though they will be away from home.

They are good travellers after winning all their away games, but are facing a mammoth task in the Tshwane side who beat them by seven wickets in the first round in Bloemfontein last month.

Playing in front of their vocal fans is enough motivation for the Titans to earn their sixth victory of the season and keep alive their dream of finishing in the top four.

The Eagles have collected 25 points from eight games, four points ahead of the second-placed Titans, but the latter have two matches in hand.

In their next assignment, the Titans will travel to Cape Town to face the Cape Cobras at Newlands on Sunday. On the same day, the bottom of the log Dolphins entertain the Highveld Lions in Pietermaritzburg.
