Tumisho Masha is the epitome of the modern guy - well dressed, well spoken and successful.

Established in the public TV eye as the arrogant businessman (Dumisani Thusong) in Isidingo - and as the stylish presenter of Top Billing - Tumisho plans to launch his own live variety show next year.

Off the bat, he admits having a wealth of experience with alcohol.

"But I'm not a drunk, rather an experienced drinker," he says.

This makes him the perfect candidate to test which of our sparkling wines would be great for that New Year toast.

To him, drinking is about savouring the moment and he chose the most interesting adjectives to describe our selection.

First up was JC Le Roux, a brand Tumisho describes as a drink for everyone. "It reminds me of my matric dance and acting very juvenile sometime in the 90s."

He describes the taste as a carbonated sweet grape juice with just a hint of alcohol. "This drink is a great starter pack, it's non-threatening and it appeals to a wide audience."

However, it doesn't get his vote.

Next in line was the Krone. "This wine is like a sixteen-year-old girl trying to get into a night club. Her hair and make-up are done and she looks the part but no one is fooled. Everyone can see she doesn't belong."

Though impressed with the packaging of the Krone, he describes the taste as dry - with just a hint of fruitiness.

His next glass was filled with Pongrazc.

"This one is like a young woman who has just found herself.

"She is classy enough to be taken out to an expensive restaurant and is able to read the menu - and is still fun enough for a night out with the boys."

He says the taste is full of body, drinkable and refreshing. "It has just enough bubbles and an almost perfect balance of fruitiness."

His last, but not least, was the Graham Beck.

"This is like a well-tailored dark suit. It is comfortable and can be taken everywhere.

"The taste is mature, a crisp Chardonnay, with enough bubbles to make it refreshing."

Tumisho will definitely be seeing in the New Year with the Graham Beck. He also makes it quite clear he will usher in the New Year with a big party.

"I have developed a lot this year and I want to celebrate life, love and laughter," he says with a great smile.
