The two-month-old investigation by the Traditional Healers Organisation has revealed nothing.
Thirteen members of the Mazubane family were found dead in their home in October.
They had allegedly eaten or inhaled a deadly muti concoction during a ritual to eject evil spirits.
Among the bodies was that of Percy Mazubane, 16, a budding traditional healer.
Yesterday Traditional Healers Organisation national coordinator Phephisile Maseko said their probe had provided no answers.
Maseko said what was known was that Percy had been to his mentor, Gobela, because he wanted to perform a cleansing ceremony to rid their home of an evil spirit.
She said they were losing hope of finding the harmful ingredient.
"We believe he might have experimented with some ingredients," Maseko said.
She said she was convinced the family had inhaled or eaten a deadly ingredient.
The police have inspected muti containers but spokesman Zandra Wiid was not available to comment yesterday. - Sne Masuku
