The "bluelight" VIP escort charged with shooting out the tyre of a motorist - allegedly causing a head-on collision that injured eight people - appeared in the Camperdown magistrate's court yesterday.
The accused, Constable Hlanganani Nxumalo, 29, of Pietermaritzburg, faces eight charges of attempted murder.
The incident took place on the N3 near Camperdown in KwaZulu-Natal on November 15.
Magistrate Thys Taljaard postponed the case to January 14.
Nxumalo was refused bail on November 19. However, it was understood that an appeal against the dismissal of his bail application would be heard in the Pietermaritzburg high court.
It also remained uncertain whether the driver of the vehicle - from which Nxumalo allegedly fired his gun - would be charged with any offence. - Sapa
