Scipio is a realistic enactment of Ancient Rome. It is a vivid portrayal of life when Rome was a superpower and the rest of the world was at the mercy of her foreign policy.

This was at the time when the noble families were entrusted with the governance of the state. It is a narrative of the all too familiar political bickering and back-stabbing plots against each other for the grand prize - power.

There were accusations of theft, fraud, treason and incompetence flying around as others used these to win popularity with the masses.

Scipio Africanus was bred to lead and defend the republic of Rome. He modelled himself on his father, Publius, a man who was cold, aloof and who placed honour and duty to Rome above all else.

Scipio and his sister and younger brother were brought up in a home devoid of love and happiness.

The only outlet was education and military training. Scipio took up his father's quest when Publius died in a battle against Hannibal.

Scipio became a great general and was awarded the title Africanus for conquering Africa and nobbling Hannibal. He died a lonely old man after the senate tried him on several charges against the republic.
