Moroka Swallows grabbed maximum points when they defeated Mamelodi Sundowns at Super Stadium through David Radebe's solitary goal yesterday.

Sundowns found themselves a goal down as early as the 12th minute, as Swallows got off the mark much quicker.

Radebe collected the ball from Cecil Oerson, who had dashed past the Downs defence and made short work of Sydney Plaatjies at left-back, before laying the ball for Radebe.

Two minutes later, Radebe's shot was saved by Calvin Marlin.

Swallows should have gone to break easily 3-0 up, and Oerson will be haunted by the golden opportunity he spurned in the 39th minute when his attempted lob was comfortably saved by Calvin Marlin.

In the 55th minute, with Greg Etafia beaten, Venicius da Silva saved from the line after young Kurt Lentjies had sailed past the Swallows defence.

l Bay United and Bloemfontein Celtic drew 1-1 in a battle of the relegation-threatened sides in Port Elizabeth yesterday.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when Geoffrey Sserenkuma put his side in the lead.

Sserenkuma wasback in action after a Safa review committee rescinded a red card erroneously handed out.

Phunya SeleSele were awarded a penalty after Zamuxolo Nqalo handled but goalie Patrick Tignyemb stopped David Twala's effort in the 38th.

Three minutes later, new United coach Khabo Zondo introduced well-travelled MacDonald "Scooter" Mukansi for Twala to add fire-power up front.

The home side drew level in the 44th minute when Gareth Ncaca scored from Jimmy Zakazaka's corner kick.
