last car auction of the year

No, it's not a rugby or cricket match queue - merely the turnout at last week's Park Village Auctions vehicle sale, as bargain hunters sought their dream car.

To accommodate the kind of demand this demonstrates, Park Village Auctions (PVA) presents its last sale of the year on Tuesday at Gate 16, Nasrec Showgrounds at 10.30am, when about 300 cars will come under the hammer.

PVA has disposed of thousands of vehicles this year, acting on behalf of banks and finance houses. At this rate of sales activity and with storage space for some 3000 vehicles, PVA has become the leading car auction group in the country.

As PVA's auctioneer Clive Lazarus puts it: "The need for wheels continues to grow, but in this stringent economic climate, it just makes good sense to buy at auctions.

"So if you are looking for a luxury car, an SUV, a family sedan, a mom's taxi, student's runabout, a small businessman's bakkie or just about anything else for your Christmas stocking, December 9 is your last opportunity in 2008.
