The Soweto Gospel Choir is on the brink of bringing more glory and honour to Mzansi.

The globe-trotting outfit has been nominated yet again for a Grammy Award - the third consecutive year in the group's history.

Last year they walked away with a Grammy, bringing their haul of awards to two.

Their latest album, Live atthe Nelson Mandela Theatre, has been nominated in the Best Contemporary World Music Album (Vocal or Instrumental).

That's not all. Down to Earth, the closing number in the recently released Disney movie Wall-E - their collaboration with Peter Gabriel - has been nominated for Best Motion Picture Song.

"We are obviously very thrilled - three Grammy nominations three years in succession," said Bev Bryer, the choir's executive producer and director.

"The choir is touring the US and Europe at the moment. I'm sure they'll be celebrating for the rest of the tour.

"It is such an honour. It is a testament to their talent and incredible hard work. We couldn't ask for a better end to a very exciting year."
