Donating blood is a gift that saves many lives every day.

Reports that the country is facing an acute shortage of blood are very concerning.

We support the call by the SA National Blood Services for all South Africans to donate blood to save people, especially those seriously injured during road accidents.

With blood banks already running low this time of the year, this is most worrying since the death toll from road accidents tends to be on the increase during the festive season.

The appeal for donations should be taken very seriously.
