Controversial TV actress and Brenda Fassie's ex-lesbian lover Sindi Khambule is down and out, so much so that pornographic videos, two tea cups, a 54cm TV set and a derelict double bed were the only belongings found in her rented room when she was evicted.
Promise Letswalo, 68, told Sowetan yesterday that she was forced to throw Khambule out of her Hillbrow, Johannesburg house because she owed her R 6000 in unpaid rent.
Khambule acted in popular TV dramas Zone 14, Back Stage, and award- winning movie Tsotsi.
Letswalo's lawyer, Nomnotho Mazibuko, confirmed that her client took Khambule to the Small Claims Court over unpaid rent.
Last week Letswalo moved Khambule's belongings into the lounge. "Sindi came to my workplace with police saying I stole her things," Letswalo said.
The pensioner was locked up at the Hillbrow police cells. She was charged with theft and released on a warning.
When approached for comment Khambule said: "It has nothing to do with you. I don't have time for rubbish."
But Khambule returned after two weeks.
"She has changed the locks to my house. I am so terrified of her," said Letswalo.
