The Mzansi Fela Festival at the State Theatre in Pretoria promises to spoil arts lovers for choice.

Happening for the third time, the festival brings together some of the most talented local artists, comedians, poets, fine theatre productions and films for 13 days, starting on Monday.

Featuring music, dance, drama and comedy, among other things, the festival begins with a march from the Union Buildings to Lilian Ngoyi Square.

Among the musicians who will take part are Hip-Hop Pantsula, Jub Jub, Lira, Thandiswa Mazwai, Ringo Madlingozi and Rhythmic Element and they will share the stage with up-and-coming bands.

On December 4 there will be a poetry event at the Rendezvous, State Theatre, with poet Masoja Msiza and others.

The music programme will start off with king of Xhosa ballads Ringo Madlingozi and Mathapelo at the Drama Theatre on December 5.

Lira will perform on December 6, sharing the stage with Jub Jub at the Drama Theatre. Film buffs can enjoy films at the Rendezvous on December 8.

Comedian Sammy Fever will make you laugh on December 11 at the State Theatre's Arena. Group of the moment Rhythmic Elements and HHP will entertain music lovers on December 12.

The programme will be wrapped up by Thandiswa Mazwai's performance on December 13 at the Drama Theatre.

Plays such as Woza Albert, written by Percy Mtwa, Sophia-town and The Hungry Earth are included.
