Crime-buster dies in smash

Riot Hlatshwayo

Captain Tailors Nkuna, well-known for his role in helping to clean up the crime-ridden Bushbuckridge area in Mpumalanga, died on Monday night after losing control of his new police vehicle.

"The member lost control of the vehicle he was driving, collided with a pole and then a tree at about 11pm," Superintendent Abie Khoabane said yesterday.

Sending his condolences to Nkuna's family, acting commissioner Rex Machavi described him as "a very dedicated policeman who was seriously involved in curbing crime".
