King Goodwill Zwelithini will open the new R10million King Senzangakhona Shopping Centre in Ulundi on Thursday.

Provincial MEC for finance and economic development Zweli Mkhize and Zululand district's chairman of the house of traditional leaders, Mangosuthu Buthelezi, will be distinguished guests.

The new shopping mall, developed by Khuthala Alliance, comprises more than 40 shopping outlets with key retail anchor tenants of well-known brands and retail stores.

It will create more than 300 much-needed jobs in the area.

The coordinator of the opening ceremony, Nokuthula Dumakude-Magubane, said hair saloons, nail and beauty experts, as well as other small business operators will also be accommodated.

A new filling station and a taxi-bus rank, as well as parking for 700 cars, will also be developed.

"A glittering opening ceremony that will include some of the country's top entertainers is on the cards", Dumakude- Magubane said.

Zululand district municipality mayor Zanele Magwaza- Msibi said she welcomed the opening of the new shopping mall because it would bring much-needed jobs.
