Lesego Motsepe, who played the soapie character Lettie Matabane in Isidingo, has bounced back after leaving the SABC3 programme.

The television star has landed a new role in a comedy theatre play called And Girls in their Sunday Dresses.

Motsepe, who last appeared in the soapie last month, said she was excited to be back where her career began.

"I was trained in stage. Theatre is my first passion and I will always go back where I belong."

The play is an adaptation from Zakes Mda's collection of short stories.

It is currently running at the State Theatre in Pretoria.

Motsepe, who has made her name as a poet and television actress, last acted on stage 10 years ago in the show Scribble.

"Acting on stage is something different because of the technique. If you make a mistake people will see it." she said.

"This is where you are taught many things as an actor.

"I have been doing a lot of things but acting on stage is something that I have been missing."

Asked why it had taken her 10 years to go back on stage, she said she has been offered roles in many musicals but turned them down because of her hectic schedule.

Motsepe has been working in the arts industry for 12 years.
