KABUL - The Taliban, which summarily carries out public executions, urged the UN to press the Afghanistan government to stop executing death row prisoners, citing concern about fair trials.
Kabul resumed hanging and shooting this week after more than a year. Three Taliban were sentenced for attacks in the past few days.
