A top SABC radio DJ has been suspended after he allegedly beat a colleague to a pulp at a festival organised by the public broadcaster. The is also his lover,

Dumisane Simelane, better known as "Madumane", and his producer were suspended this week for disrupting the music festival in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga at the weekend.

Simelane and his producer Bheki Sehlabela, otherwise known as BK, allegedly brought the SABC's name into disrepute when Simelane lost his temper after allegedly finding his lover kissing another man at the Blue Moon music venue.

Simelane and Sehlabela host the Breakfast Show on the Nelspruit-based isiSwati radio station Ligwalagwala FM weekdays between 6am to 9am.

The lwoman at the centre of the row, Buhle "Drama Queen" Ndlovu, hosts All Night Radio, which airs on weekdays from midnight to 3am.

Simelane allegedly lost his cool when he found Ndlovu , the mother of his two-year-old son , kissing another man at the festival.

The festival was organised by Ligwalagwala FM in partnership with SABC1 and Channel O.

The SABC confirmed that the two have been suspended.

"We can confirm that both Simelane and Sehlabela have been suspended by Ligwalagwala FM pending an investigation into allegations of assault," SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago said.
