HOT BREAD IS BEST

Sibusiso Zuma did duty as a professional football player for his country in the 2002 Fifa World Cup and captained the South African national team at the 2006 African Cup of Nations tournament.

His career started at Mighty Pa and continued at African Wanderers and Orlando Pirates. He joined Danish club FC København (Copenhagen) in June 2000 and blossomed as a player, helping the club win its second Danish football championship.

Zuma was voted into FC København's hall of fame for his fabulous 2004-05 season.

After five and a half years at FC København Zuma was sold to German Bundesliga club Arminia Bielefeld. He signed for Mamelodi Sundowns in June.

Zuma the Puma is a popular South African sports hero and is looking as hot as ever despite his recent injury and ankle operation.

"I hope to be training again with the team in two weeks' time," Zuma says.

"I am eating healthily so that when I come back I'm in great shape.

"Bread is a staple part of my diet. I eat it every morning with a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs, mushrooms, baked beans and fish fingers - a mighty breakfast of champions."

Zuma says he usually buys a white Albany loaf but is happy to test some other brands.

Woolworths do not bake their bread on site but get their bread delivered daily.

"I would only use this bread for toast," says Zuma. "It's dry and tasteless on its own."

Albany, Zuma's usual choice, is fresh, moist, spongy and full of air, according to the football star.

"I like this bread, but I have to admit that Sasko is competition for my usual choice."

He takes another big bite.

"Mmm, it's good, salty and tasty, but Albany still tastes fresher and sweeter."

Albany Best of Both bread has all the great taste of white bread, with the fibre content of brown bread.

Lastly, Zuma samples a fresh loaf from Spar that is still warm from the oven.

"Now this is in a league of its own. Spar is definitely the best of these brands. It wins hands down."

Obviously the smell of freshly risen dough adds to the enjoyment of the slice and butter melting into the soft moistness is an unbeatable advantage.

"Eating bread straight from the oven is the way to go. I'm gonna change to Spar bread and make sure that I get it as it comes, piping hot out of the oven."
