Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
An alleged rapist who impersonates soccer star Thabiso "Skappie" Malatsi is on the loose.
The hoodlum drugged and raped a woman before making off with her BMW 1 Series car.
Relating her ordeal yesterday, Maria (not her real name) said she first met the man at Clearwater Mall in Roodepoort on the West Rand.
Maria, 29, said the suspect wore a Puma outfit. She said she had no difficulty eating out of his palm.
With the physique of a soccer player, he had the woman lapping up every word he said.
Speaking from her hospital bed at Garden City Clinic, she said: "He told me that he played for Ria Stars and Kaizer Chiefs. Everything he said sounded so convincing. I gave him my cellphone number and the next day he called saying we should meet at McDonald's in Hillfox.
"We met in the restaurant's parking lot and sat inside his green VW microbus for a chat."
After promises of eternal bliss, the smooth-talker left the smitten woman inside the car and returned with what turned out to be a spiked strawberry milkshake.
But the sweet talker turned out to be a Lothario from hell as the milkshake left her sedated for two days. "People at the restaurant said he went into the toilet after buying the food. I suspect that's where he spiked my drink.
"At first I did not want to drink it but he insisted that it was unAfrican for him to eat alone."
The married mother of a four-year-old girl said she woke up two days later - minus her white BMW 1 Series (registration PLR 611 GP), a laptop and a cellphone.
"He dumped me on the street in Newlands and I was picked up by total strangers. Doctors told me that I was penetrated. I am not angry with the guy. I just want to see him so he can explain what drove him to do this to me."
Gauteng police spokesman Inspector Sanku Tsunke confirmed that they were investigating a case of rape and theft against the man, who they want to question about the incident.
"If there are any other people who fell victims to the same man, we urge them to come forward," said Tsunke.
Maria is being monitored for a possible HIV infection. She said she would soon go public and use her experience to educate other women.
Sowetan obtained CCTV footage showing the impostor swaggering into the restaurant.
The former OR Tambo Cosmos player, who recently joined Value Rockets, could not be reached for comment. But his coach, Walter Rautmann, distanced the dribbling wizard from the allegations.
