The police have decided to revisit the case in which a Johannesburg woman accuses her employer of assault.

Sowetan reported yesterday that the police had arrested and charged Gabisile Khambule, pictured , with perjury after she had reported having been assaulted by her employer.

"The head of detectives will look at the case again in order to determine if there are any discrepancies," spokesman Superintendent Lungelo Dlamini said.

Employer George Menez claims that Khambule is lying. He is the owner of the George's Home-made Crisps factory in Leondale.

A doctor's letter says Khambule suffered swelling and trauma of the abdomen as a result of an object's impact on her tummy.

Khambule said that instead of Menez being arrested she was charged with perjury.

She is out on R300 bail and will appear again in the Alberton magistrate's court tomorrow.

Bongani Psimo of the Food and Allied Workers Union said they had consulted lawyers to represent her.
