Three beaming lottery winners happily shared their joy at a prize-giving ceremony yesterday.
Regular SportStake player Emilia Marshall, from Western Cape, was delighted to receive a R227000 cheque after predicting the correct winning teams on her ticket.
"I love Sportstake and have always been playing the game," Marshall said. said. "My husband and I monitor team performances every time. Luckily I was able to predict the winning teams."
She said she would invest the money for her two children.
Winner of R696000 Ronald Marfin had been left with only 21 days before the deadline to claim his prize.
He bought the ticket in November last year and forgot all about it until he found it not so long ago.
Bhekani Mthembu, a father of one from Mhlabalingana in KwaZulu-Natal, won R184000. He said he would finally get his family together.
He plans to settle down and look after his family.
He won the money after buying a quick-pick ticket.
