Another victim of a rental flat con artist has come forward.

Nonhlanhla Ngobeni was conned by Manuel Moabelo in May, also in Midrand.

Ngobeni had replied to an advert. She had viewed and decided to lease the one-bedroom townhouse in Fountain View, Midrand, from Moabelo.

"The place is beautiful and she was sweet. She even introduced me to her friends in the complex," she said.

Ngobeni said she paid R4000 into Moabelo's bank account.

She said she became suspicious when Moabelo did not give her keys to the flat.

"When I arrived at the gates the guards laughed at me."

Ngobeni said she felt embarrassed when police also laughed at her at Midrand police station.

"The police gave me a letter to take to the bank and I was refunded R2100."
