A solitary goal by the in-form Richard Henyekane was good enough to see Lamontville Golden Arrows maintaining their unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership after defeating Maritzburg United 1-0 at Woodburn Stadium yesterday.

The win in Pietermaritzburg saw Arrows move to third position on the log with 12 points from six games.

They are the only club in the Premiership who are still to taste defeat in the new season.

It was a third consecutive defeat for United, a spell in which they have conceded a total of eight goals - losing 2-0 to Free State Stars in the Telkom Knockout two weeks ago and going down 5-0 to SuperSport United in the league last week.

The visitors were the first to make a scoring attempt with the game only three minutes old when Kagiso Senamela shot over the crossbar from well inside the 18-yard area with goalkeeper Richard Giltrap all at sea.

Henyekane's goal was set up by Senamela in the 14th minute. The striker easily beat an out-of-position Gilstrap, who has a tendency to play more as a sweeper .

l The Absa Premiership match between Platinum Stars and Santos was abandoned due to a power failure at Mmabatho Stadium in Mafikeng last night .

The lights went out 25 minutes into the match with both teams tied at 0-0.

The match was officially called off just before 11pm as per PSL rules that require that a referee wait three hours before deciding whether to abandon a match under such circumstances.

PSL general manager Ace Ncobo said last night the match will resume at the same venue at 4.25pm today.
