Bay United once again proved that matches are won by dedication and good strategy when they beat Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in a Absa Premiership match at Super Stadium yesterday.

It was the second win for Umlilo over the star-studded but under performing Downs in as many matches.

The defeat has put further pressure on coach Trott Moloto and Patrice Motsepe is likely to ring changes in the technical team this week.

Henri Michel is rumoured to be appointed manager in Chloorkop.

But back to the match.

Downs started on the attack but their forwards let them down.

Katlego Mphela fluffed a scoring chance in the 18th minute and Lerato Chabangu did the same five minutes from the break and Benedict "Tso" Vilakazi could not convert in a goal-mouth melee on the stroke of half time.

But David Thwala broke the d eadlock with a volley that beat Calvin Marlin in the 63rd minute.

Downs equalised through defender Siboniso Gaxa in the 78th minute. Substitute Jimmy Zakazaka put the nail into Sundowns' coffin when he scored in the 84th minute.
