We have become accustomed to admiring Sindy Mabe's gorgeous face on Morning Edition on e.tv, on Weekend Live, SABC2 and as a newsreader on SABC3'sNews in 60 Seconds, but look at her beautiful hands.

As co-anchor of the e.tv breakfast news and actuality show Sunrise, she is used to taking good care of herself for the small screen. She admits to always carrying a tube of hand cream in her bag to keep her flawless skin moist and supple.

Of the four brands we asked her to compare she was already well acquainted with two of them. Fishing for her Nivea hand cream in her bag she says that this brand is one of her favourites.

We asked her to try the Nivea Hand Anti-Age Q10 Plus, a product from Nivea that was new to her.

"Nivea is an absolute market leader in hand creams," she says.

"It is nourishing and moisturises richly, but is also light and absorbs quickly and easily without being greasy. The smell is light and pleasant without being overpowering. This is definitely going to be a favourite."

Mabe's evaluation of the Skin Clinic's Triple Action Hand & Nail Cream is also very positive.

"I've used this brand before," she says. "It is very good value for money and a very good alternative to the very expensive brands like Christian Dior and Chanel and it does the job just as well."

Mabe's only complaint is that it doesn't absorb easily and you have to really rub to get it into your hands.

Vaseline Intensive Care has a healthy hand and nail hydrating lotion that Mabe calls "Old Faithful". The smell is sweet and fruity, with a subtle floral undertone. She believes that Vaseline will never disappoint as a tried and tested beauty regime. The cream contains keratin and liposomes for 30 percent stronger nails.

The last product tested by our intrepid news anchor was Johnson's Naturally Soft 24-hour hand cream.

"This cream has a very fresh subtle floral scent, which is extremely appealing," she comments, generously lathering it onto her manicured hands.
