Yesterday Sowetan in its Limpopo edition published a story about two policemen who died in car accidents.
A report from the police said Captain Malekutu Samuel Mamorobela, attached to the Lebowakgomo SAPS's mechanical garage, and Captain Sammy Chauke of the Thabazimbi criminal record centre, had died in the accidents.
Provincial police spokesman Senior Superintendent Motlafela Mojapelo yesterday informed us that the police had made a mistake about Chauke.
He was admitted to hospital and has since been discharged. Police management regretted the inconvenience that the report may have caused Chauke and his family.
